Lasting beauty: how long do flowers last?

Flowers are meant to make you happy, to evoke emotions. They can express more than a thousand words, women like to receive them, men like to give them. At least sometimes. But to really make them happy, they have to last for a while. I'm sure you're wondering how long cut flowers last. If you pick them yourself at the florist, you have at least some idea, but what if you send them via courier and flower delivery?

Even in that case, you assume that the flowers you receive will be fresh, fragrant and crisp. But are you sure? We are sensitive to your concerns and care about your satisfaction, which is why we buy flowers fresh daily and from proven growers and farmers. To further enhance the life of your flowers, we add free cut flower food.

Do you know that you can not only buy a bouquet with us, but that we will deliver it all over the Czech Republic, e.g. in Hradec Kralove, Pilsen...

What is the shelf life of each flower?

Flowers are nature's living material, and while it's generally safe to say how long each type of flower will last, it also depends on how much care you give them. If you change the water regularly, prune them, remove dead flowers and leaves that might be soaking in water, they can last:

  • Roses can keep you happy for 10 to 14 days.
  • An orchid can grace your home for 2 to 3 weeks.
  • Tulips have a lifespan of about 1 week.
  • Freesias are the same as tulips.
  • Alstromeria can be enjoyed for 7 to 10 days.
  • Lilies will grace your home for 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Chrysanthemums will last up to 3 weeks with proper care, as will carnations.
  • Gerberas have a lifespan of about 5 days.
