  • Fill the vase about halfway with room temperature water. Make sure it is neither too hot nor too cold.
  • Before placing the flower in the vase of water, cut the stem back 4 to 5 centimetres. Cut the stem about 1 centimetre shorter each time you change the water.
  • Is your stem curling? Reinforce it with a piece of clear tape. Do you have a long stem? Then support the stem with a wooden stick and stabilise the amaryllis overall.
  • The amaryllis likes light, but definitely not direct sunlight. Keep this in mind when choosing where to place the vase. Also, be careful not to have a heater nearby.
  • Remove dead flowers regularly and allow the others to bloom and dazzle you with their beauty.

  • Plant the bulb in the potting medium so that it is one-third above the surface.
  • Water the flower lightly and place it on the windowsill. The ideal room temperature should be between 22 and 25 °C.
  • Once the stem has sprouted, start watering regularly and continue throughout the flowering period.
  • Starflowers don't mind lower humidity or dry air? This makes it an ideal houseplant.
